SBS Corporation was awarded the contract to build the new visitor's center located  at the McCrea Ranch in Thousand Oaks.
The historic McCrea Ranch is located just north of the Conejo Valley and was purchased in 1933 by legendary film actor and western movie star Joel McCrea who continued the long tradition of ranching and dry land farming. Joel and his wife, movie star Frances Dee, raised their three sons on the ranch. In 1995 the McCrea family donated 225 acres of the Ranch, including the family home, to the Conejo Recreation and Park District.

RRM designed the 1,400 sf Visitors Center, which includes a lobby, exhibit/ display area, meeting room, restrooms, and large deck. The Visitors Center will also offer a variety of interpretive, educational and programming opportunities as well as sustainable features such as solar panels.
